a compilation of favorite pieces of music, typically by different artists or sometimes by one individual artist, recorded onto a cassette tape or other medium by an individual.
Here at HHMW we love mixtapes — it gives back the uncut raw feel of music recorded with no politics from the labels and sometimes production that would never be cleared because of sample rights but simultaneously live within the underground/mixtape world.
