5 Favorite Albums That Just Went Platinum Because Of The New RIAA Rules

Yesterday, a major milestone was reached in music and for its artists, as the RIAA announced their new rules as far as counting sales for artists. The RIAA revealed that 150 streams/views of a track for an artist will be equal to one download, and 10 tracks is equal to one album. Not only will artists be able to count their streams and views on Youtube into their album and single sales, but some have already reached platinum status because of these rules. This is definitely a game-changer for artists, especially in hip hop, where it’s seemed to be much more difficult to reach platinum status in the game as of lately.
