XXL Will Still Publish Print Magazines in 2015

Despite allegations of going fully digital, XXL plans on publishing more print magazines. Vanessa Satten, the staple’s Editor-In-Chief, sat down exclusively with MTV to discuss the brand’s future.

“We’ll do another issue this year, several issues next year, I’m not exactly sure what the number is, we’ll figure it out but [they’ll] definitely [be] magazines next year. “There’ll definitely be Freshmen and we’re going on with a new company.”

Digital powerhouse Townsquare reportedly purchased the company with a $100 M bid, and a source from within the media mogul revealed they plan to publish 4 issues of the magazine in 2015.  With XXL continuing their Freshmen franchise, we’d bet their staff can find some worthy potential candidates from our featured artist page.
