Kendrick Lamar Sued Over “The Blacker The Berry”

Following the success of Kendrick Lamar’s single, “The Blacker The Berry” he’s now being sued for copyright infringement for the single artwork. The single artwork which features a woman nursing two young babies is allegedly stolen from photographer, Giordano Cipriani.

Cipriani claims he took the photograph of the woman with her children, back in 2011 when he took a trip to Africa and neither the rapper or label asked permission to use the photo or compensated him for it. Cipriani recently filled a lawsuit on July 10th and is asking that Lamar not be allowed to use the photo. Additionally, he’s requesting $150,000 damages for each time the image was used and additional cash to pay lawyer fees.

It’s not confirmed if the claim by the photographer is in fact true, but if it is SMH shame on him and TDE!
