Peep the irony here. So Florida, where do we start? Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department’s very own Michael Szeliga reportedly showed up intoxicated to accept his award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Fort Lauderdale.

“It was wrong, and again, one of the most ridiculous things I’ve heard of,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told Raw Story. “When I first heard about it, that was [what] my reaction was. ‘Come on, you’ve got to be kidding me. Really?’”

What makes this story even more interesting is that the Raw Story claims that Szeliga drove himself to the conference all drunk and inebriated despite only having “one or two drinks” before attempting to receive his award. To reprimand the officer, he was “forced” to write an apology letter for his inexcusable behavior to various supervisors.
