Today, April 9, Cardi B will be co-hosting for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. This is the first time that anyone has shared the responsibilities of the host on The Tonight Show in network history. This historic appearance comes 3 days after the release of her debut album, Invasion of Privacy. The news of the event was revealed by NBC on Tuesday. In the announcement, the network has said that Cardi B will help interview guests on the show as well as give a performance.

This won’t be Cardi B’s first appearance on the show. Back in September, Cardi B joined G-Eazy in a performance of their single “No Limit” as the guest performance of the night. She popped up on the show again in December as the interviewee of the show, which generated a considerable amount of fanfare. Check out the interview below.

A clip of her five-minute interview on the show has garnered roughly 17M views on YouTube, making it one of the most popular clips of the year on Jimmy Fallon’s YouTube channel. According to the New York Times, Jimmy Fallon’s viewership average has declined 15 percent from last year, so Cardi B’s presence as co-host may bring a much-needed boost to the show’s buzz.

The upcoming show will be her first public appearance since she officially revealed her pregnancy, which has been heavily speculated on up until now. She revealed her substantial baby bump during her April 7 performance on Saturday Night Live during a performance of her single “Be Careful”. Halfway through the song, the camera pans out from a portrait shot to show a form-fitting white dress with a spotlight on her belly. The designer of the dress, Christian Siriano, took to Instagram to congratulate Cardi, captioning a photo of her on the show with “Congratulations to my girl @iamcardib, new baby on the way! You looked stunning tonight in custom Siriano on @nbcsnl it was an honor. #cardib Styled by @kollincarter”. Check out the Saturday Night Live clip below.
