It was a great night for Hip-Hop at the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards. Common and John Legend took home the award in the Best Original Song in a Motion Picture category for their song “Glory,” off the Selma movie soundtrack. Many people were moved by Common’s acceptance speech in which he paid homage to those who died for the fight of Civil Rights, past and present. Jay-Z, who is known not to be big on the social media scene even tweeted after Common and John Legend received their award:

Watch below as Common gives an exceptional acceptance speech at last night’s Golden Globe Awards. Congratulations to Common and John Legen on their win. Selma is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
