Welp, well it was a mistake, right? Well, that’s what Rich Homie Quan is trying say. You don’t need Rap Genius to tell you the line in question revolving around Rich Homie Quan’s controversial lyric about smashing his cousin to understand the meaning.

“If you talking ’bout them M’s, boy I need a dozen/ I ain’t know we were related, but I hit my cousin,” he rapped on the song “Numbers.” Complex addressed the messy lyric and asked for clarification. Quan provided the best explanation that he possibly could. “In Georgia, you have big families,” he explained. “So, like, when I say it, I didn’t know the person was my cousin.”

Quan also kindly elaborated that the woman involved wasn’t his first cousin, but “like a cousin’s, cousin’s, cousin.” He found out about their relation after a family reunion, he concluded. Please make sure to SHARE this with your friend.
