Dancehall Pioneer Convicted Of Murder

Vybz “Adidja Palmer” Kartel was tried and convicted along with three other men, for the murder of inspiring artist Clive “Lizard” Williams. Throughout the 65 day trial Kartel maintained his innocence, but it took the jury just 2 hours to find the dancehall artist guilty of murder. Kartel’s lawyer, Tom Tavares-Finson, assured they would vigorously appeal the decision and suggested the police were biased.

According to UrbanIslands.com, Tom Tavares-Finson says, “We will not sit by and let this case of injustice score victory. We will be appealing the verdict given the many questionable police corruption in the case.”

Kartel faces life in prison. The other men, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, and André St John, were also found guilty in the murder.
