De La Soul has been working hard to cater to their fans this year, as they pledged to deliver an album full of new music with their help. After launching a Kickstarter campaign to help fund their next studio album, the trio has raised a total of $600,874 to go towards making the project. On top of that, De La Soul has also received donations from a total of 11,169 backers on the website, whether that add up to $1 or even thousands.

Originally the group made a goal to raise at least $110,000 for the album, but it’s clear that they have exceeded those expectations, and just about multiplied it by six times. According to the website, this is the second highest most-funded campaign that Kickstarter has ever seen, making this album historic before it’s even been released. De La Soul has also promised tons of incentives to those who have been donating to the campaign.
