After 17 years of being an on-air personality at popular radio station Hot 97, DJ Cipha Sounds announced today that he would be leaving. It appears that Cipha Sounds’ issues are internal as he has voiced his frustrations about a lack of communication between him and the station regarding his current position. Cipha Sounds took over for radio host Angie Martinez when she left Hot 97 to become a host at Power 105.1. According to Cipha, Hot 97 gave him no formal information about his interim position, filling in for Angie Martinez’s afternoon time slot. Then the station suddenly announced that they would be replacing him with MTV personality Nessa. Cipha Sounds was quoted as saying that his experiences at Hot 97 were “enough to fill five lifetimes” and that he had an “amazing ride.” We wish Cipha Sounds all the best in all his future endeavors!
