Wow. Drake’s new mixtape, If You’re Reading Its Too Late, is projected to reach 500K in iTunes sales by Sunday. The offering is also expected to be the #1 album on iTunes, despite it being a mixtape. To put Drake’s sales projections in perspective, Beyonce and her surprise album enjoyed 600K first sales in 2013. In addition, 2014’s highest first week sales for rap was J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive release with 371,228. Let’s see how the numbers are when the final total comes in sometime in the middle of next week.
