‘Empire’ Soundtrack Debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart

Although the season officially ended yesterday, Empire is still making noise. The soundtrack for the hit television series debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chartfor the week ending March 15. The soundtrack which beat out Madonna’s Rebel Heart album, becomes the first TV soundtrack to debut at No. 1 since 2010 when Glee (another Fox series) reached the top of the list. The compilation album features appearances from the show’s cast including Bryshere Y. Gray who plays Hakeem Lyons, Jussie Smollett who plays Jamal Lyon, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and others.
