#FBF: Rich Boy’s “Throw Some D’s”

Alright it’s Flashback Friday and we’re taking you back to the year 2007, a time when music was produced in a fun way and there was not one singular (and dominant) sound permeating the radio airwaves. There was, however, a song that took over our ears back then.

“Throw Some D’s” was a national hit as it was made by Mobile, Alabama’s own Maurice Richards aka Rich Boy. The record would reach #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Rap charts and would go on to sell a million copies. When people first heard the song, they thought the song was referring to breast enhancements but the actual translation? “D’s” referred to one’s rims for your car.
