Insiders are saying popular Rapper/Producer and frontman of the group Black Eyed Peas was the brainchild of the popular headphone brand, Beats Electronics. He is rumored to have given the idea to Jimmy Iovine years back who then took it to Dre and the rest is history.
Will.i.am’s reportedly told the crowd at a music-industry trade show that he has made more money off his stake in Beats than he ever made with the Black Eyed Peas.
Even without a huge stake in the company the Beats deal will cement Will.i.am as the tech mogul he’s dreamed of becoming for years. His first attempt at releasing an iPhone camera attachment and an equally disastrous multi-media site Dipdive, both flopped.
Will already has an in with Steve Jobs’ wife. He should try to persuade Dre to get him an executive spot at Apple too so he can get some tips from Jony on his new smart watch.
