Photo stock agency, Getty Images has rolled out an ill new initiative to increase photographic coverage and awareness of underrepresented communities around the world and has chose to to it with social media app, Instagram. With Instagram being the most downloaded social media app, it made sense for Getty Images to partner with them. In addition to the partnership, theres an initiative in place for Instagram users. Each user will submit 10-20 images that portray stories not normally seen in mainstream media, Getty will then select finalist who will be judged by a panel. Three winners will receive $10,000 each in funding as well as mentorship by Getty staff photographers and have their work featured in the Photoville exhibition in New York fall 2015. To participate enter here before June 4th. Winners will be announced in September.
