Back in 2014, Lil Wayne revealed that Birdman was holding his Carter V album hostage, and would not be releasing it. Weezy then filed the lawsuit in order to get his unpaid royalties, as well as get out of his record deal with Cash Money, and take Young Money independent. While Weezy had a lot to say about Birdman on his  Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape, Birdman still referred to Wayne as his family in an interview with Angie Martinez. Things then got ugly at LIV nightclub in Miami a few months back, as Birdman threw a drink at Wayne while he was on stage.
