Jay-Z Has 99 Problems But Yankees Tix Ain’t One

Jay-Z didn’t pass up the opportunity Thursday night (Sept. 25) to go and watch the legendary Derek Jeter play his final game in the pinstripes.

And it’s a good thing the rap star has got more money than God, too. Tickets for Jeter’s final game at Yankee Stadium were outrageous. At one point the average going rate was $845! Once the shortstop announced that he would retire at the end of the year back in February, tickets were hard to come by. People were either buying them up to watch the future Hall of Famer, or they were buying them to sell back to make a buck.

Money or no money, Jay-Z is a die hard Yankee fan. He wasn’t gonna miss out on seeing Jeter play one last time.

Sitting prominently behind the home plate area, the rap icon got some nonessential media attention while soaking in the all familiar screaming atmosphere. For nine-innings the 48,613 in attendance would not shut up. Chants and applause for Jeter never let up.

Jay-Z is particularly known to ‘roc’ his Yankee cap. And he is quoted saying in a song, “I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can.”

Sorry, Jay. I don’t think anyone has made a Yankee cap more famous than Derek Jeter already has.
