Kanye West Interviews Inspired Empire Scripts

Empire just concluded their first season, and is arguably one of, if not the biggest show in the country. One of the creators of the series, Danny Strong, a seasoned writer who’s penned scripts for high-profile films like the Mockingjay, Game Change, and The Butler. The white writer, who has no previous experience in hip-hop or urban communities, drew inspiration from watching Kanye West interviews to help him do his thing with the sitcom’s popular characters.
