Madonna Attends Opening of Tupac Musical

Madonna attended Monday night’s performance of the new Broadway musical ‘Holler If Ya Hear Me’, a showcase of the music of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. Shakur’s mother Afeni Shakur, the show’s producer, also attend the debut performance. The day would have been Shakur’s 43rd birthday.

Holler If You Here Me‘, was written by Todd Kreidler and directed by Tony Award-winner Kenny Leon. The show takes a look into the world of Tupac Shakur’s music and lyrics, while also exploring friendship, family, revenge, change and hope.

Shakur is regarded in some Hip Hop circles as a 20th Century prophet whose life was tragically cut short at the young age of 25.

Madonna had been linked to the Rap star in the early 90’s, but has never commented on their relationship as a couple. The Material Girl posted a picture of herself with Tupac’s on Instagram. Her comment read: “The real Ballerz Don’t hate!”
