Following the highly anticipated Mayweather vs. Pacquaio fight this past Saturday, reports have surfaced that there could be a rematch in the works. Apparently Pacquiao had a shoulder injury, specifically with his rotator cuff, which Pacquiao’s camp says happened a few weeks before the big fight with Mayweather. Pacquiao is set to undergo surgery on a significant tear in rotator cuff sometime this week. Mayweather has gone on record and said that he’s willing to fight with Pacquiao again in a rematch once the Pac-man is fully healed.
One could assume or even argue that this is a publicity stunt, especially considering that if they do have a rematch the fight is estimated to be worth 3x more than this past fight and will probably happen next year, when the new MGM Grand in Vegas is complete or it could be just a real deal rematch for an even fair and square fight?.
