Nike Wanted Kanye West To ‘Just Do It’ for $4 M

During Kanye West’s Dr. Kanye West’s acceptance speech yesterday at SAIC where he received his honorary doctorate, he mentioned that his reason for leaving athletic power house, Nike, was because he wasn’t going to receive a percentage of earnings made from his kicks, merely because he’s not an athlete. (Assuming that it’s included as part of Nike’s contractual clause in its million paged contracts.) Nike, however, offered Kanye $4 M a year to stay which, we all know, he turned down for Adidas.

If you were Kanye West and Nike offered you $4 M with no residuals (especially since the UBER successful sneaker releases that probably made ten times more in revenue than Nike’s offering), would you stay?
