“Blurred Lines” profited $16,675,690 and with Robin Thicke earning $5,658,214, Pharrell earning $5,153,457, and ATL 2 rapper T.I. earning $704,774 while Interscope, UMG Distribution and StarTrak split up the rest. According to a court case over a copyright case with the Gaye family, the song cost roughly $6.9M to make. The Gaye family also wants a chunk off Thicke’s $11M touring profit from their successful claim that his hit single sounded too familiar to “Got To Give It Up.” The Gaye estate initially was suing for $40M for royalties and touring.
