HBO’s Bessie biopic starring Queen Latifah will hit the small screens in May. The OG took to her Twitter account to announce the news. Bessie will depict the singer’s rise to fame as one of the first stars of the Blues genre. Queen Latifah re-recorded many of the soulful vocalist’s famous songs for the film, so we’re excited to hear how they came out. Congrats, Queen Latifah!
