Earlier this year, Jay Z planned to change the music industry by introducing the first artist owned streaming platform. Tidal started off strong, but then started to lose user interest when competitors like Apple Music launching and Spotify offering similar payments plans.

According to HDD, rumor has it that Hov may be trying to leave his role as a co-owner of the company. Many are speculating that Birdman’s $50M lawsuit against Tidal for allowing a stream Lil Wayne’s new album is one of the reasons.
