Russell Simmons is curating a broadway musical about hip-hop, inspired by the hard rock musical, Rock of Ages. The Scenerio will document 30 years of hip-hop culture and will teach audience members about the ups and downs of the genre alongside various social affairs topics throughout the years. Simmons is teaming up with Tony award winning Scott Prisand to co-produce the play and hip-hop historian expert Dan Charnas to co-write the script. The Scenerio is set to hit Broadway in Late 2016. Find out more about the project from co-founder’s sit-down with Rolling Stone.
