This beef was really, really messy. What started as lyrical barbs being traded became a war in New York because of the damaging blows  being exchanged. After Jay clowned Nas on “Takeover”, the Queens emcee retaliated with a scorching response in “Ether.” That led to Jay Z having to take things to the next level and calling out Nas’ baby mother on “Super Ugly.” Harsh.
