With rappers like Nelly, Chingy, J-Kwon and others who have a not so gangster style of rapping, it would probably sound far fetched to hear the city they all hail from is the murder capital of the United States as of right now. St. Louis, Missouri not only has the highest murder rate as of May of 2022, it frequently finds itself in the top 10 of any year. It would be interesting to see where the city falls as far as poverty is concerned. There is usually some sort of correlation between poverty and homicide rates in the inner cities.
