Nas and Jay Z was probably the most intense hip hop beef that the genre had ever seen in history. The two went at it over records, with Jay releasing “The Takeover” after hearing subliminals from Nas on mixtapes. As then released “Ether,” which has been argued as one of the greatest diss records to date. Things almost got ugly when they eventually squashed their beef in 2005 at the ‘I Declare War’ concert in Philly.
