Today Is The 13th Anniversary of the Release of Jay Z’s ‘The Blueprint 2’

The self-proclaimed Michael Jordan of rap has owned the genre for more than a decade. How? By scripting indelible bars, Jay Z has etched himself a lane as the best to do it. After masterfully penning his musical opus The Blueprint, Hov tackled on the daunting task of recapturing the magic from that album and producing a sequel project.

13 years-ago today, Jay Z released his seventh album The Blueprint 2. Hov’s first-double disc album didn’t quite live up to the lofty expectations placed by musical pundits, but it did have several potent cuts. Tracks like “Hovi Baby,” “Meet The Parents”, “Blueprint 2”, and more helped solidify Hov’s place as a Rap titan. He also had his classic “Bonnie & Clyde” track with Beyonce.
