Travis Scott: Phenom Or Fraud? [Op-Ed]

The hate on Travis Scott is pretty unreal right now. Let’s get one thing understood, Travis Scott isn’t adept at dropping punchy lyrics or blowing you away with his double-time flows. If you’re looking for Kendrick Lamar quality bars, go listen to Kendrick Lamar. If you want black empowerment type of records, go listen to some conscious hip-hop. (P.S., I love Kendrick Lamar.) But, there’s room for innumerable artists in this large room we call Hip Hop. What many fail to grasp about the Houston rapper is his eclectic ear and immaculate stage game. Artists like OG Maco, A$AP Nast, and even Rihanna’s writer publicly spewed venom towards Scott’s direction. Are their claims legit? Is Scott really overrated?
