VH1 Plans To Tell The History Of The Hip-Hop Business In New Movie

VH1’s TLC biopic was everything Lifetime’s Aaliyah’s wasn’t. VH1 is producing a new movie entitled The Breaks based off the Dan Charnas written book: The Big Payback: The History of the Business of Hip-Hop. Seth Mann, who has credits with The Wire, The Walking Dead, and Elementary, penning the script and directing the film. If the movie does well, the network might curate a full television series based on NYC hip-hop in the 1990s.
