Rocky set the culture ablaze when he first entered the game. With “Peso” and “Purple Swag” propelling him up hip hop’s totem pole, he felt he didn’t need the extra push from XXL to solidify his standing in rap. “I was touring and stuff. It just didn’t work out,” he said. “[But] I got love for everybody,” he said regarding his reasoning for missing out on the cover in 2012.
