You would think that college basketball players would be focusing on their academics and their play on the court, especially on the heels of March Madness. One team may have crushed their dream of donning Cinderella slippers this month because several of their players went off on the deep end on Twitter. According to Deadspin, the University of Minnesota suspended three of their players for violating team rules. After further research was done, it was revealed that the players were the Gophers’ leading scorer, Nate Mason, and freshmen Kevin Dorsey and Dupree McBrayer.

According to the Gophers forum, Dorsey allegedly leaked the graphic sex tapes on Twitter. The videos graphically shows Dorsey and another man engaging in a sex act with a female. The link for the videos has since been deleted off Dorsey’s page and so has his Twitter, but the damage has already been done. Coach Pitino of the Minnesota Golden Gophers said the following regarding the suspension.

“Obviously, culture and doing what’s right is extremely important to myself, our staff and our players. I wake up every day, and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity that I have to coach in an awesome basketball conference and to coach in a place where I consider my dream job. We’re going to do things the right way. Tonight wasn’t about wins and losses, it was about making sure our guys understand that this thing is bigger than just basketball. And we’re going to do what we believe is right. Unfortunately you may lose the battle, but you’re going to win the war. Today was unfortunately not as much about wins and losses but about the culture of our program. That’s something we work at every single day. And it’s extremely important to what we’re all about.”
