Nas Launches Tech Scholarship Fund

Nas is one of the few rappers that quietly gives back to his community by any means necessary. Not only has the lyricist stayed true to his message since day one, but he always finds a way to represent for minorities. On Illmatic, the Queensbridge native reminded us via song that the world was ours and anything is possible, and his new business venture proves he’s a man of his word.

It’s no secret the technology world is dominated by Asian and Caucasian men. Nas and his Queensbridge Venture Partners have teamed up with powerhouses Google, Microsoft, and Hirepurpose to change the culture of the industry by making it more diverse. This scholarship not only helps the students enrolled, but also gives a chance for the less fortunate to learn the tools of the trade in the digitally dominated world.
