Nas appeared on the PBS show, Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr last night. The episode, titled We Come From People features the Queens based rapper, Academy Award-nominated actress Angela Bassett and senior adviser to President Obama Valerie Jarret. Nas is shown a picture of the white slave owner who bought his great-great-great grandmother. As if that wasn’t traumatizing enough, the hurting rapper was then shown the receipt from the transaction, appalled that his relative was only sold for $830. Watch the clip above.
