Tupac Inspired Musical ‘Holler If You Hear Me’ Gets Canned

Holler-If-You-Hear-Me

The musical,  Holler If You Hear Me  that is inspired by the lyrics of the late Tupac Shakur’s songs, debuted on Broadway last month on what would have been Shakur’s 43rd birthday.

But according to Variety, the musical will end its run on July 20th due to poor sales also reporting that it was an $8 million production and the early closing amounts to a loss.

The attendance for the show at Broadway’s Palace Theater was 45 percent of overall seating capacity last week, says the story, which also said that reviews of the production have been mixed.

Usually you can’t miss with something affiliated with Tupac Shakur…so who is to blame?

Did Kelly Leon, the director, miss the target?

Did Todd Kreidler, the writer of the play, drop the ball?

I guess we probably won’t ever know, but long live the great makaveli through phenomenal works.
