Born in Compton as Andre Young, Dre’s roots in music began as a member of the World Class Wreckin’ Cru, an electronic and RnB group whom opened up for New Edition on tour during the early-to-mid 80s. Of course, we all know Dre broke new ground with N.W.A, the first gangsta rap artist in hip-hop.
