Nicki hasn’t had the longest history with battling negative publicity, but she’s certainly had her fill of it in a shorter time than a lot of artists. After ranting about her VMA snub of her “Anaconda” video being nominated for Video of the Year, she then went on to boil the issue down to race, with Taylor Swift chiming in against her opinion. From there, outlets battled it out to defend either Taylor or Nicki, or many just complaining that Nicki was feeding for a racial issue, despite any good points she might have made. It was a tough lose/lose situation for Nicki, being that she already was dealing with the VMA snub.
