Tory Lanez Arrested And Released For Violating Protective Order

Rapper/singer Tory Lanez was arrested, remanded and released after a judge decided he had violated a protective order against him. Lanez left the Los Angeles courtroom in handcuffs and was remanded to custody until he posted $350,000 bail . The artist was in court for a hearing in his felony assault case involving Megan The Stallion stemming from the July 2020 shooting.

Judge David Herriford, who is presiding over the case, heard about an hour of arguments from Megan’s legal team and found Lanez’s social media activity to be targeting the  with “clear messages” subliminally sent her way. One tweet in particular was the one that got Lanez jammed up. 

“Good D*ick had me fucking 2 best friends … and I got caught … that’s what I apologized for … it’s sick how u Spun it tho,” he tweeted.

Lanez would make bail and be released Tuesday, April, 5th. Furthermore, he then hopped on Twitter and capitalized on the attention by announcing new music was on the way.

The judge added a new condition to his bail release that he must not mention Megan Thee Stallion in any form on social media as the case progresses. Lastly, Rolling Stone‘s Nancy Dillon added that the trial is finally set to get underway on September 14 when both parties will be back in court.
