Why Is The Life-Span Of A Female Rapper’s Career Often Short-Lived?

Yes, there have definitely been some big female names in the rap game that have seen longevity in their careers, but those seem to be in far fewer cases. Lauryn Hill was just named on Billboard’s Top 10 Greatest Rappers Of All-Time list, but has had one of the shortest solo rap careers of any female. She released her Miseducation album in 1998, and has yet to release another project, or a slew of new material. She still shines, but her light of being an MC has seemed to have faded quite fast, despite her incredible career accomplishments within that time frame.
