Why Is The Life-Span Of A Female Rapper’s Career Often Short-Lived?

MC Lyte is another great example of a legendary female rapper who never quite kept her longevity. She is by far one of the greater veterans in the game, and still does make music, but she has been much more in and out of the limelight since the late 80’s and early 90’s. Her time in the main female spotlight didn’t last nearly as long as someone like Lil Kim, or even today’s Nicki Minaj. She was known to be able to rap amongst the men just as well as them, and probably still could today.
