1996: The Greatest Year Ever In Hip Hop

20 years ago today, hip hop was on another era of a come-up, and while 1994 was when a ton of huge legends were initially introduced, 1996 was the year of growth for many of them. Not only did we see some of the best of Nas, Biggie, and Tupac, but we even got our first introduction to Jay Z. That also makes this year the 20th anniversary of a lot of brilliance that came out of 1996, and we need to prepare for all of the greatness we need to celebrate. This is our introduction to our newest series, where each month we will cover all of the anniversaries of projects that were released in hip hop for that month 20 years ago. Take a look at what’s coming up this month.
