2 Chainz might go hard with his pen game, but he isn’t afraid to turn soft when it comes to his children. The “No Lie” rapper shared the exciting news on his Instagram that he welcomed his newborn son just yesterday, whose name is Halo. Chainz already has two daughters, making Halo his third child, as well as his first son ever. With the happy news, the birth of his son brings up an interesting question as to whether it will change the dynamic of Chainz’s music even more? Over the years, the rapper has been full of controversial lyrics, but has done his best to never be misogynistic in such a cutthroat lyrical genre like hip hop.

Just two years ago, Chainz became a trending topic after he spoke to a female groupie who went backstage for one of his entourage members, referring to her with the question, “Is this yo thot?” As the footage circulated the web, many tested the rapper for his words, being that he has daughters of his own, questioning if he would accept a man speaking to them the same way. While the birth of daughters certainly changes a man, Chainz’s first son might be the dynamic-changer for him, as he will have to raise him by example. It will certainly be interesting to see if the Southern rapper will be making any content changes to his music, or if he will be going harder on the masculine front. The same goes for Kanye West, who already switched his style up completely with the birth of his two-year-old daughter North West. The Yeezus rapper is anticipating the birth of his first son this coming December, and with his influence on hip hop culture and pop culture, there’s no telling how it may change his whole presence in music. While North calmed him down, who’s to say that his son won’t charge him back up? One thing is definitely clear in hip hop — the children are our future.
