This past weekend was opening weekend for the critically acclaimed N.W.A, Straight Outta Compton. With all of the country flocking to the movies to see the film on the world’s most dangerous rap group, the movie grossed an impressive yet not surprising $56 M at the box office as the movie came in at the No. 1 spot.

Now, following its release, film critiques and movie blogs are all a buzz, a lot of folks are saying Straight Outta Compton could possible be a contender for Best Film at the 2016 Academy Awards. Although, nothing is confirmed and everything is all speculation, considering how well the story was portrayed, we wouldn’t be surprised if it did make the running.
