It’s been 13 years since the untimely demise of Jam Master Jay. With hopes of paying homage to the legendary DJ, Adidas decided that they will release its “Superstar” sneaker next year.

The “Superstar” sneaker will be out Jan. 21 2013, which will come out on Jay’s 53rd birthday. The shoe is vastly similar to the Pro Models, which was originally released earlier this year. The Pro Model had “Jay” inscribed inside the tongue of the shoe, just like how the “Superstar” kicks will appear once it finally drops.

This is big because Run DMC popularized the Adidas Brand through their attires and music back in the day. So it’s great to see the love being returned by the notorious brand.
