When we think about hip hop films, Belly is certainly one that comes up in many conversations as being a go-to flick. While the film itself didn’t necessarily receive the highest ratings and reviews, it became a cult hip hop film because of its two main characters, played by Nas and DMX. On top of that, it had one of the best soundtracks of any hip hop movie to come out, which can make a low-rated movie into a timeless one.

Belly had a soundtrack full of top artists, including DMX and Nas themselves, as well as Method Man, Ja Rule, D’Angelo, Wu-Tang Clan, JAY Z, Sean Paul, Norega, and tons more. It even had production from Swizz Beatz and Diddy, while reaching #5 on the Billboard 200 charts, with the record, “Grande Finale” being released as a single. Belly is definitely a staple hip hop film, and we’re glad to still see it being talked about today.
