In his new role as Miles Davis in the bio pic Miles Ahead, award winning actor Don Cheadle will be making his directorial debut. Different from most bio pics, this movie is set to be and action flick on the late iconic jazz composer and trumpet player. In a recent press conference at the 2015 New York Film Festival, Cheadle said the screenplay was inspired by the “stories in my mind when I listen to his music.” To further build it out, Cheadle used his imagination, which led him to one of the most troubled periods in Davis’s life, his drug addiction, which subsequently made him unable to play or to compose.
