Today we celebrate the life of recording artist GURU, one half of one of the best arguably groups in hip-hop history Gang Starr. Today would have been GURU’s 54th birthday.

Guru lost his battle with cancer on February 28, 2010 after going into cardiac arrest and his legacy as a father, friend, and artist will live on forever. If you ever wondered the acronym behind GURU’s name? It stood for “Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal.”
