Scarface has become a staple MC in the game, and was named as Lyricist of the Year at the 2001 Source Awards. He has collaborated with all kinds of artists from Ice Cube, Nas, Freeway, and many more. He is responsible for fostering the career of Ludacris, as he became the president of Def Jam South, signing him in 2002.

Overall, Scarface has had an incredible career, and is still working hard to keep conscious rap alive. He is very outspoken regarding the social injustice issues occurring throughout the country, and has become a strong voice for the hip hop community. Although he has arguably some of the best lyrics in the game, he is still one of the more underrated rappers in the industry. He was honored earlier this year with the I Am Hip Hop award at the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards. Happy birthday to Scarface!
